Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current or valid teaching certification.
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or academically supporting students.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one subject offered by 4.0 Labs.
  • Ability to teach students in 2nd-12th grade within verified areas of competency.
  • Ability to create and implement structured lesson plans.
  • Ability to create, administer, and interpret academic assessments.
  • Ability to explain difficult concepts clearly and patiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, time management, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Ability to prepare accurate progress notes and parent reports.
  • Ability to adapt instruction for students with different levels of understanding.
  • Commitment to academic integrity, student privacy, professional boundaries, and student safety.
  • Proficiency with email, shared documents, video conferencing, digital whiteboards, and online educational tools.
  • Reliable computer, camera, microphone, and internet access for online tutoring.
  • Reliable transportation when accepting in-person assignments.
  • Ability to complete any legally permitted background screening required for working with minors.
  • Ability to work as an independent contractor and meet the responsibilities established in the contractor agreement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of classroom teaching or professional tutoring experience.
  • Experience providing individual or small-group instruction.
  • Experience supporting students across multiple grade levels.
  • Experience interpreting assessments, grades, assignments, and progress data.
  • Familiarity with grade-level curriculum standards.
  • Experience communicating academic progress to parents and guardians.
  • Experience developing intervention plans for students with academic gaps.
  • Experience providing online instruction.
  • Experience using digital educational platforms and interactive teaching tools.
  • Experience teaching artificial intelligence, coding, financial literacy, investing, or other enrichment subjects.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification when required for an assignment.
